OES Offers Risk/Compliance Tool for Sponsored Access to Chi-X Europe

LONDON, October 14, 2009 – OES MarketGroup® (OES) said today that it is now offering Risk Sentry®, its new risk management and compliance tool, to firms providing sponsored direct market access (DMA), allowing trading firms to connect directly from their infrastructure into Chi-X Europe®.

Sponsored DMA is designed to help trading participants reap the benefits of lower latency trading connectivity into MTFs or traditional exchanges. OES (www.tradeOES.com), which will be co-located with Chi-X (www.Chi-X.com) in the carrier-neutral Equinix datacenter in London, allows sponsoring-firm clients to connect directly to Chi-X Europe’s core matching engine by either proximity hosting or remote access.

“There is a strong demand to offer sponsored DMA access to clients of trading participants,” said Hirander Misra, COO of Chi-X Europe, which last year became the first MTF to gain approval to offer sponsored access from the Financial Services Authority (FSA). “We are pleased that OES will provide the necessary automated risk and compliance tools for our sponsoring firms,” he said, “as this will bring the many benefits of sponsored DMA to their end clients and enable a broader range of potential participants to take advantage of our core internal matching speed of approximately 350 microseconds.”
